March 9 Class -- Easter Cards Sneak Peek

Here's a sneak peek of a sampling of the Easter Cards you can make during the March 9 class.  You don't have to make them look like this; you can use any of the Spellbinder dies that I bring to class or bring your own and change these up:

this once had to be cut in the Grand Calibur -- the dark pink shaped card is a Spellbinders Grand die and doesn't fit in the Cuttlebug well

two smaller sizes of the Grand Decorative Ovals One which fit in the Cuttlebug.  The white inset die is my favorite die lately.

I have a lot more digital images to share during this class but won't be making cards ahead of time using them all -- there are just too many.  There's no need to color in these images; that work is already done for you.

This class will be one where you will use your own Cuttlebug or other die cutting machine to cut out the shapes you want and emboss the backgrounds as well.  It is a good refresher course on cutting and embossing using your Cuttlebug.  Further details about the class will be posted on my other blog, www.anngcrafts.blogspot.com once the date for the class gets a little closer.  If you have any questions about the class, please feel free to email me at anngreenspan@gmail.com.  If you like this class, send me an email and let me know.  The date is March 9 from 10am to 1pm.  Any die cutting machine will do for this class or let me know that you don't have a machine and you can borrow my Cuttlebug.

Spring Flowers cards -- A Head's Up / Everything is on Sale

For the spring flowers cards that I made below, and will also be teaching a class on March 22, I used the following punches, just in case you want to have them with you for the class:

The first two, the purple and green ones, are from Hobby Lobby and are on sale the week of Feb. 24 thru March 2 at 40% off so you don't need your coupons.

The third punch, the blue one, used to be available at Michaels.  It is a Marvy Uchida but is now made by Recollections and is still at Michaels but now looks like punch number 4.  It is called the Large Daisy -- on the back of the punch it just says LG DSY.    If you purchased these punches last year and have the blue one, that is fine, don't go out and buy the fourth punch..........it's exactly the same as the blue one but just looks different.

Hobby Lobby also sells a pink punch which is smaller than the purple one shown above but I don't use that one as it is too small.

We will be using all three of these punches in the March 22 class if you are interested.  These punches, along with the stylus kit shown below, transform flat paper punched flowers into beautiful 3 dimensional flowers.  You will also need a piece of thick foam to roll the stylus around on, which you can get at Hobby Lobby in the craft dept.  Just use a regular piece of their thickest craft foam.

These punches all punch great through vellum, which is what we will be using in class.  Vellum and all cardstock/paper is also on sale this week at Hobby Lobby at 50% off if you wanted to pick some up.  I like the light colors that you can see through for the flowers in case you want to ink the edges of them.

These are some of the flowers and cards, but just some, as we will make a lot more in a variety of colors.  They look great on scrapbook pages, boxes, and cards.  The thing that I like about these flowers is that they look great by themselves; they don't even need leaves under them.

You can see cards similar to these on my other Pinterest boards..........I got the ideas online and wanted to try them for myself.  I only made slight changes because the cards were so nice to begin with.
